The hard-luck Ladd family rents out space in their home to a company that broadcasts nothing but lifelike video advertisements. Concerned for their privacy and well-being, siblings Sharon and Todd devise plans to earn money and render the ads unnecessary. But their mom, Wanda, gradually falls under the spell of smooth-talking ad personality Rob Steele.
